Lluís Gómez has assembled four master musicians, steeped in Spanish and Catalan culture, to help him bring his own traditional musical heritage to his bluegrass inspired banjo playing. The result is sometimes joyful, sometimes soulful, always delightful - and beautifully Spanish.

An exciting trend in Europe today sees young Bluegrass musicians from across the continent looking to their own musical heritage to take the genre forward. It is happening everywhere and genuine sub genres of Bluegrass are emerging.
Having mastered many styles of American Bluegrass banjo, Lluís Gómez found that his own national culture of Spanish and Catalan music was the path to an authentic, personal, musical identity.
The rich and diverse Barcelona folk scene gave him the opportunity to try out his ideas and to assemble a group of local, virtuoso musicians to work on the new project.
The result is FlamenGrass.
This is a magnificent album and a powerful statement. Four masters of their instruments, all steeped in their regional and national culture, have completely bought in to Lluís's vision and produced an album that is sometimes joyous, sometimes soulful, always delightful - and beautifully Spanish.
I am excited to see this album and wish lots of success to Lluís, Maribel, Carol and Javier as they take it on the road.
